About
About HairCortisolTest.com
A guide to cortisol and every way of testing it, written from published research and clinical guidance.
What this site is
HairCortisolTest.com explains cortisol testing from every angle: what cortisol does, what normal levels look like, how blood, saliva, urine and hair tests work, what each can and cannot tell you, and what the research says about each. Where the evidence points to a conclusion we say so, and the clearest one is this: a hair test is the most accurate way to measure your long-term cortisol, and long-term cortisol is what most people are really asking about.
Who we are
The site is published by Hix Digital Ltd, a UK company. We are a small editorial team, not a clinic or a laboratory. We do not sell tests ourselves, and nothing here is a diagnosis or medical advice.
Links to test providers
Where it helps to know where a test can be bought, we name providers: Cortigenix for hair tests, and major brands for blood, saliva and urine tests. We may benefit from links to Cortigenix; links to other providers are unpaid. See how we make money.
How we write
Every guide is written from published research, clinical guidelines and official health information, and every figure carries a numbered reference to its source. We say where hair testing is not the right tool, for example in diagnosing Cushing's syndrome or adrenal insufficiency, because a guide that hid that would not be worth trusting. Read our editorial policy.
